Why Frugal Worldschooling
The word frugal matters to us — but probably not in the way you’re imagining.
For us, frugality isn’t about cutting corners or saying no to everything. It’s about being thoughtful with our time and money so we don’t have to work more than we need to. Less spending often means less pressure, less stress, and more freedom to be together.
Worldschooling fits naturally into that.
We believe kids learn best when they’re engaged with the real world — through conversations, exploration, and experience. Travel gives our kids context for what they learn, and it gives all of us perspective we wouldn’t get at home.
What Our Travel Looks Like
Our trips are usually slower and simpler than what you see on social media.
We tend to stay in one place longer.
We don’t pack our days with activities.
We look for places that feel livable, not luxurious.
We’re just as happy with a simple rental, a walkable town, and a favorite local spot as we are with a big highlight. Often, those quieter choices turn out to be the most memorable.
And yes — we still want it to be fun. If everyone is exhausted or frustrated, something isn’t working.
